Lonjsko Polje Nature Park
Lonjsko Polje Nature Park is part of the Tentative list of Croatia in order to qualify for inclusion in the World Heritage List.
Lonjsko Polje Nature Park comprises a flooded river plain of the Danubian basin. The landscape consists of marshes, wet forests and meadows used by cattle. The pastures have been used for hundreds of years and supported the preservation of the indigenous livestock species found in this region. Traditional settlements with wooden houses can still be found in the area.
